Autumn Breezes are Blowing...

Today I was out in my yard watering the flowers when a breeze caught some leaves and sent them swirling. They glided slowly until they landed in the pool amid ripples on the water and floated with the breeze, orange against hues of blue.

I love the Fall. Maybe it's my favorite time of year because I never experienced the changes in seasons growing up in a tropical climate.

What is it that is so appealing about the crispness in the air, the trees turning from shades of green to burgundy, red and orange, the sound of the leaves falling off the trees?

I don't know, but it gives me a warm feeling inside. I want to go make pumpkin soup and bake cinnamon rolls...it makes me want to go gather wood and stack it up to be ready for the fireplace when the air gets a little crisper, and the temps a little colder. It makes me want to go gather twigs and dried leaves to make a center piece.

I don't know what it is about Autumn. The falling leaves, the crisp cool breeze, the time change... it gets dark early again. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's my favorite time of year.

Think I'll grab a sweater and go enjoy a walk. God is changing the colors all around. I can see His hand painting the canvas warm hues of burgundy, orange and red.
